Multiple gunmen opened fire in the South Street section of Philadelphia, killing at least three individuals and injuring 11 others, according to authorities.
According to Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace, officers patrolling the South Street neighbourhood heard gunshots and saw “many active gunmen firing into the crowd.”
At a press conference on Sunday, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said the shooting began about 11:31 p.m. Saturday.
“Several citizens suffering from gunshot wounds, lying on the sidewalk and on the street,” cops on South Street witnessed. She went on to say that the cops then began providing first assistance to individuals who had been harmed.
